My name is Sharon White and I am married to Paul. We have 2 grown up children Matt and Jeni, and a 4 year old daughter Jessica. Paul is the practical one who makes the soap moulds, the soap cutters, has built this very website and sorts out all the business stuff for the company leaving me to concentrate on making the soaps and dreaming up new recipes.
The idea for Herbylicious came about when I realised I wanted to use native plants and herbs in a way that could help people, so I booked on a local herb course at Ruskin Mill, Nailsworth with the herbalist Nathan Hughes - a fascinating teacher. This course sparked a passion of discovery. I have read many books on the subject of plants and healing - learning that so many of the flowers and 'weeds' that grow in our own gardens or the local hedgerow are actually very useful to us. Plants such as Nettles, Cleavers (the dreaded sticky bud plant), Plantain and even the humble Dandelion to name a few are powerful healing plants.
Herbylicious was born out of a desire to do something good for others, and use the plants that grow around us.
We started our journey learning how to make handmade soaps using the traditional cold pressed method. Using plants such as Comfrey and Calendula which I grew myself to infuse into oils has been just the beginning.
Sadly for my neighbours, my 'vegetable' plot has been taken over by 'weeds'. I am 'growing' them for use in new products! Yes, we are now expanding to include a variety of new products.
We are now introducing creams, liquid soaps, shower gels, yummy organic lip balms and lots more.
If I haven't already mentioned we are very keen to create as natural a product as we can. We do not want to use anything artificial if at all possible. We will use the best ingredients we can to offer you a gentle and safe to use skin care product.
